Yesterday was quite an eventful day. Sarah, Michelle and I went to the A Day In Pompeii exhibit at the Science Museum. Here’s a small write up for those who don’t know about Pompeii and are to lazy to click the link above.
The Roman city of Pompeii was frozen in time by the catastrophic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Pompeii’s archaeological treasures rarely leave Italy, and this national touring exhibit marks the first time that these rare treasures will come to Minnesota. Room-sized frescoes, marble and bronze sculptures, jewelry, gold coins, and hundreds of priceless ancient artifacts join body casts of the volcano’s victims, eerily preserved in their final frantic moments. Don’t miss this moving glimpse through a unique window on the ancient past.
It was very interesting to see the different artifacts like jewelry, coins, kitchen appliances, statues and frescoes. The houses from the times were really well done as well. I would much prefer one of the models there as opposed to my house now. Well, filled with all the common day amenities of course. The casts of the people and animals that died were very interesting too. There was also a lot of information about volcanoes. It was very neat. I highly recommend going if you think it is something that would interest you.
After that we headed to visit Kristy, who was unable to make it because of her recent appendectomy topped with being pregnant. By the way, congratulations again Kristy & Big 6. Suckers. We had dinner at Ruby Tuesday then went back to Kristy’s and chit-chatted until Big 6 came home and crashed our party.
All in all it was a very fun Thursday night!!
