TwiSarah and I flew into Las Vegas on Friday. The main focus of our trip: being extras in The Hillwood Show’s New Moon Parody. If you’ve been living under a rock for the last year, the video of their Twilight Parody can be found at the end of the post.
The trip officially started at one o’clock when TwiSarah’s dad drove us to the airport. Once there we begrudgingly paid $20 each to check our bags. The nice gentleman at check in is worse than me at math because he tried to short me $20 worth of change, but we got it all squared away. We grabbed lunch at the one restaurant in HHH. Good thing we got there early because it took us about 90 minutes before we were out of there. Yikes. Worst airport restaurant service ever.
The flight didn’t board until it was supposed to leave so we were a little delayed. TwiSarah took the middle seat and ended up sitting next to a fairly attractive, younger, smallish type of guy. Why is it when I sit bitch I always get some large dude that takes up the entire arm rest and usually makes some sort of gross noise? Also when the seats reclined the tray tables stayed in place. I suppose it would be good if you had a large belly that gets in the way of the table, but unfortunately for me all it did was interfere with the ability to put my head down on the table to sleep.
After navigating through the airport, getting our bags, stopping at the shuttle station then going to the correct shuttle station we made it to our hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn. It’s a couple of miles off the strip from the four corners and by the looks of it I’d never know we were in Las Vegas. It’s a modest 4 story hotel without a casino and it’s quiet in the wee early hours of the morning.
Once we got situated we met up with Melissa, another extra who we also met at the Twilight Convention in Minneapolis and is conveniently in the room next to ours, and ate dinner at The Bootlegger Bistro across the street from the hotel.

On Saturday TwiSarah, Melissa and I ate breakfast at the hotel before visiting some hotels on the strip. We took the hotel shuttle to Mandalay Bay and from there went to The Luxor, Excalibur, The Luxor, Excalibur, The Luxor, Excalibur (we may or may not have gotten lost in the skyway system trying to find a way outside, but we did enjoy a treat at Cold Stone somewhere along the process), New York NY and MGM Grand. We stopped for a bit of gambling, a round of Jell-o shots, previously mentioned Cold Stone, a NY pretzel and bandages.
The short time we walked outside was rather crappy. It was drizzly and a bit windy. We didn’t want to walk on the strip any further and we were all pretty fatigued after a few hours so we headed back to the Mandalay Bay to catch the shuttle back to the hotel. Unfortunately we got lost in the casino and had no idea which entrance we came in at, so we ended up paying $15 to take a cab back to the hotel.

Saturday night we had dinner plans with the Hillywoods and other extras. We all met in the lobby of the Hilton. There were a couple young girls there with their… parents. Cue the violins because I immediately felt old. Although after a few minutes of interacting with the parents and experiencing second hand embarrassment for the girls and one boy, I didn’t feel so bad about pushing 30 and being able to come here without parental supervision. There were 25 of us extras total and we met the girls we would be riding with to the filming site. Lisa would be driving TwiSarah and me as well as Mary and Sara from HillyFans.com.
The Hillywoods treated us to pizza at Nikki Lee’s Sports Pub and we went over details for the shoot on Sunday. Our original plan was to leave at 2am, but because of poor weather conditions we bumped the time back to 5am. I didn’t hear anyone complain about that time change. After dinner we hit up the store for some snackies for Sunday and went back to our hotel to catch some shut eye.

Due to the surprise nature of the New Moon Parody, I am unable to disclose any information about it at this time. But fear not, I will post about it with a link to the video once it’s released this January. However, until then feel free to enjoy this teaser:

After the long day on Sunday TwiSarah and I were exhausted. We ended up spending our last night watching TV and eating room service in bed. We never even saw The Strip while it was dark out.
On Monday we packed up our stuff and stored everything at the front desk while we checked out Vegas one last time. On the Mandalay Bay tram we saw peen. I don’t think I can sum it up better than TwiSarah, so here it is:
The highlight of our day, though, was we saw… peen. Yes, peen. Picture this: we’re sitting on the monorail, and a guy gets on after us and is holding onto the pole. He is wearing thin white pants. No underwear. He’s getting excited. And he’s air thrusting. We were hysterical, laughing so hard we cried. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time!
I don’t remember much after that, because as usual I am backdating this post about a month, but I do recall TwiSarah winning over $80 playing Jackpot Party!!
TwiSarah says
we’ll always have peen in vegas.
TwiSarah says
jackpot party!!! wanna go to the casino this weekend???
