There have been a lot of technological advances in audio over my short period of existence. Cassettes, CDs, MiniDiscs (omg what a joke those turned out to be), and MP3s. I can’t imagine where we go from here as far as music formats, but I can say that whoever came up with Bluetooth audio is pure genius.
I have a fancy pants radio in my car. At first I didn’t care about Bluetooth technology. I thought it was just for hands free talking, and anyone who knows me at all knows I despise talking on the phone. But then I discovered that I can listen to whatever’s on my phone through the speakers of my car.
BAM.
My life was changed forever.
Now audiobooks and podcasts are a staple of my vehicle listening entertainment without having to remember to take my iPod out of the car so I can hook it up to my computer and transfer new content. Likewise, I can be lazy loading recently purchased music onto my iPod because it’s automatically on my phone. And it works great for those times I forget to put my iPod back in my car.
Now if they could just make an iPhone with the GB capacity of my iPod Classic, the world would be grand.
