April Fools might be an obvious beginning for the A to Z challenge, but I have exciting news.
I pulled off an April Fools joke today for the first time. Ever. In my entire life. And it was the best.
I gave a false phone message to my coworker from Don Key with the number to the Minnesota Zoo. He was so serious when he called, I damn near peed my pants I laughed so hard. And the lady at the zoo didn’t miss a beat. She tried to transfer him to the April Fools line, which apparently offers a discount for sponsoring an animal, but he ended up getting transferred back to her and she delivered the news that he’d been had. In the meantime, another coworker was running around trying to look up info for a job at the zoo from a prior year.
It was a success. I left the message for someone else too, but I don’t know what became of it. Only tomorrow will tell.
Thanks for the tip, TwiSarah!
that prank is classic. very nice!
Thanks! It worked out quite perfectly.
That’s awesome. Did you give a heads up to the Zoo person, or is it a common call?
Apparently it’s a common occurrence everywhere, so they’re prepared, lol.
An enjoyable lighthearted start to the challenge. I also love it that the lady at the zoo played along,
Good luck with the remainder of the challenge.
Thanks so much! You too. :)
Happy AtoZ Day – I’m glad April 1st has passed – you are too good at pranks.
(I would fall for one in a heartbeat.)
Thanks for your post!
I’ve never fooled anyone before! It was exciting. Thanks for reading. :)
Ha! Very good. I’ve never been good at April Fools pranks myself, I just start laughing. Good for you!
Thank you! Put it on your list for next year.
I don’t think I’ve ever pulled off an April Fools joke. Congratulations.
I couldn’t believe it worked!
I love harmless fun jokes–and god bless the people who smile right through them and never miss a beat. Good for you!
