Another day, another relaxing morning at the pool. I forwent sunscreen today and sat in the shade of the umbrella for a few hours. My shoulders got a little toasty, but I wasn’t sure if that was from the umbrella not filtering the sunlight acceptably, the two quick dips I took in the pool, or the walk between the room, pool, and restaurant. Probably a combo of all three. I get to a point where I just feel gross and don’t want to slather on sunscreen or sit in the blazing hot sun. The tan will be gone in a week, so why force myself to be miserable and hot for the sake of a week of bronzed skin? Also now that I’ve been soaking up the sun for two summers in a row in my own pool, it takes away the thrill of going somewhere sunny with a pool. #firstworldproblems
For lunch we ventured to the Palapa Bar. I ate the steak tacos. Man, have I been missing out ordering chicken these past few days. The steak is where it’s at.
I joined Kristen at the pool after lunch, but returned to the room after not too long. I sorted a freshly dried load of laundry which was about 50% underpanties, then lounged around the condo before taking a pre dinner nap.
We were in the pizza mood and Kristen was hankering for something wood fired, so we ventured to a new to us place called La Dolce. I ordered the Margherita pizza, Kristen ordered a goat cheese and Gorgonzola pizza with spinach, pears, walnuts, and a balsamic reduction which was AH. MAY. ZING. and Curtis ordered lasagna. For dessert we split an Italian style flan with mascarpone cheese in it. It was a delightful meal, and if I go there again I would definitely take a chance on one of the more unusual pizzas.
