I have some things I really want to post on the site… like my trip to Vegas with TwiSarah to film the Hillywood Show’s New Moon Parody, and the 6 times I saw New Moon last year, but unfortunately I’m having some technical difficulties. Stick with me, I promise I’ll be back soon. :)
THS New Moon Parody
12/13/2009
TwiSarah and I rolled out of bed at 3:30am on Sunday morning. We got about 4 hours of sleep, but it felt like my head had barely touched the pillow. We took an hour to get ready, donning our red shirts and black shoes and jeans. We packed up our red cloaks and snacks for the day and headed to the parking lot to help Lisa decorate her car with paint. It was cold, windy and raining. And dark. Really dark.
We were on the road in a convoy by 5am. Lisa, Sara and Mary (the girls we were riding with) were a lot of fun to hang out with and the ride went quickly, especially while in a Dramamine induced haze. Three and a half hours, two pit stops and one yellow Porsche delivery later we arrived at Scotty’s Castle in Death Valley, CA. Wow!! There were no words to describe how it felt to be driving around winding roads and seeing the clock tower peak out from the mountain tops. I suppose “There’s Volterra,” would be an appropriate phrase.
New Moon November
In honor of New Moon premiering this month, jillapalooza now has a spiffy little Twilight theme!!
Twilight7
On February 13th I saw Twilight in theaters for the 7th time. By no choice of my own, mind you. I was practically forced by four of my friends: Sarah and Kristy who had just read the book, Michelle who was in the process of reading and Tara who was reading Breaking Dawn. For the record, it is just as good the 7th time around and Robert Pattinson is just as swoon worthy.
Fortunately the movie was only $3 this time since it had moved to the discount theater. Woo-hoo!! Of course the popcorn is just as expensive. Bastards. The five of us enjoyed the movie and then went to dinner afterward. We wanted to go to Champps but they were charging a cover (WTF?) so we opted for Houlihan’s instead. I enjoyed some delicious meatloaf. It was nice to have some fresh minds to discuss the book and movie with. In retrospect I should have driven with Tara alone so we could have discussed the other books. Instead we had to bite our tongues and be hush hush as not to ruin it for the slackers others who hadn’t read the series. But they will, just like Renee will eventually read Twilight. :o
Twilight comes out on DVD in three weeks and I’ve preordered the Border’s special edition copy. Nice.

Twilight5 & Twilight6
I saw Twilight for the 5th time last Friday night with my sister Lani and niece-in-law Megan. Lani had read the first two books, but Megan was a Twilight virgin. The movie was enjoyed by all. I thought the theater was still quite busy for the movie having been out for 7 weeks, but I suppose not everyone is a superfan like me who rushed out to see it on opening weekend. Of course, I was curious as to how many people in the theater had already seen it. Apparently the dad in the family sitting in front of us hadn’t seen it before, because he kept leaning over and asking his daughter questions.
I fully intended on stopping at 5 times. It seemed like a good number, and more than enough times to tide me over until the DVD comes out in March. But Blog Reader Kristen left me a comment that she was interested in seeing it again. Apparently she had to see it again to make up for that disgusting display in Grand Cayman, which it didn’t seem like she wanted to count in her total Twilight viewings. I drove to Cloud on Saturday night so we could see it there. Curtis accompanied us as well, not having enough Alice is my guess. That or he wanted to monitor our swooning, keep us in line. Somebody has to. I swooned over Edward as usual, but Kristen fully swooned over baseball Jasper.
